With Canada Day on Sunday, we thought we would share our 5 tips for throwing a Canada Day Party.
#1: Location // Pick a shady spot, under a tree if possible.
#2: Menue // Keep things simple.
We went for food in red and white.
Strawberry jam with whipped cream cheese
Strawberries, Raspberries, and Watermelon cut into Mapleleafs
Vanilla Cup Cakes
Rhubarb lemonade fizz
And for fun Twizzlers
#3: Decorations // Pick a colour scheme with no more than 3 colours.
We went really simple for the decorations, like the food we went red and white. We made our banner out of plastic tablecloths from the dollar store. We added rick rack, lace, sparkles, and pompoms for interest and to make it special and our own. We added a Canada Day banner, tissue paper tassels, flags, and pinwheels for colour and detail. We opted for red plastic baskets instead of paper plates, we found really cute paper cups from the Dollar Tree with vintage looking Canadain icons, red and white paper straws and we used mason jars for drinks.
#4: Guests // Invite your best friends and family. Have fun and enjoy celebrating our Country.
We invited Hannah and her girls from Twinnerpated. We had so much fun with them and Bryer and Isla loved Fay and Eden.
(Head over to Twinnerpated and check out their tips and traditions for celebrating Canada Day.)
#5: Enjoy // Make sure you keep things simple so you can enjoy your party with your guests.
We had so much fun with Hannah, Fay & Eden. Thanks for helping make our party extra special.
